Are you looking for cheap place to stay in Huntsville, Ontario? Consider the conveniently located motels!

Huntsville is my hometown and we have quite a few accommodation options in the area, but the most economical are almost always the motels in town. Now, motels are known for being basic and often dated, but I’ve found the best options so that you can come visit comfortably and without stress.

Why Stay in a Motel in Huntsville?

Besides the lower pricepoint, staying in a motel is more about location than anything.

Huntsville is a very spread-out town and it can be difficult to get anywhere without a car. But if you’re mostly coming to Huntsville for the town’s charm, art, festivals, a drink at Pub on the Docks, or to enjoy a swim and paddle at the town docks, you’ll want to find accommodation downtown.

A scenic paved walkway leading to the iconic Main Street arch in Huntsville, Ontario, surrounded by vibrant fall foliage, red Muskoka chairs, and historic buildings, showcasing the charm of the town when you stay in motels in Huntsville.

Let me give you a local’s insider tip: parking in downtown Huntsville sucks! It’s a small space and not enough parking lots close to Main Street (yay! We don’t want to waste land anyway). But this can be frustrating for visitors driving round and round the streets to find a spot three blocks away from Main Street. It’s the worst in the summer tourism season or if there’s an event on.

Now imagine leaving your car at the motel and just walking into the downtown.

The main accommodations close enough to walk from are some of the motels I’m going to review with you below.

So if you’d like to avoid the busy parking in downtown Huntsville and simply walk from your motel, chose one of the motels below that best suits you.

Top Motels in Huntsville

Alrighty, let’s get into it. These are my top recommended motels in Huntsville based on updated-ness and proximity to downtown.

1. Rodeway Inn Motel

First up is the Rodeway Inn King William. It was always called the King William until Rodeway bought it. It’s my top recommendation because it is the most updated, close to downtown, and has the highest review rating to back it up.

The Rodeway is only a 9-min walk across the iconic green bridge into downtown and is even closer to some of my favourite breakfast places in Huntsville! Or if you have a couple local beers at the Pub or Canvas Brewery, you don’t have to worry about driving, it’s less than 10-min back to your room.

Now, wether this motel accepts children under 12-years-old or pets is conflicting across a couple platforms. I have personally gone to this motel to get clarification for you! As of January 2025, …

However, this motel does not accept children under 12-years-old so it’s not the best family option. Nor does it accept pets. I have some other motel suggestions below if you’re bringing little ones – 2 legged or 4 legged.

I love that it’s been renovated recently and now has a clean, modern, and minimal aesthetic, making it the best of the motels in Huntsville. So, if you’re looking for a modern atmosphere in a prime location, the Rodeway King William Inn would be a great choice!

2. Huntsville Inn Motel

The Huntsville Inn Motel is another convenient option for your stay in Huntsville, sitting right next door to the Rodeway King William Inn.

While the rooms aren’t as recently updated as its neighbour, the Huntsville Inn Motel remains a solid choice, offering everything you need for a comfortable stay. It has all the essential amenities like a mini-fridge, microwave, and hairdryer, which make it easy to prepare snacks or freshen up after a long day exploring Huntsville.

The Huntsville Inn, a two-story motel in Huntsville, Ontario, with a clean beige exterior, snow-covered grounds, and a bold blue sign under a clear sky, offering an affordable option for motels in Huntsville.

This motel is ideal if you’re looking for affordability without sacrificing convenience. It’s also worth noting that it might be slightly cheaper than the Rodeway, with an average difference of about $10 per night.

This motel is not pet-friendly.

Staying at the Huntsville Inn puts you right in the heart of town. You’re just steps away from downtown Huntsville’s shops, restaurants, and scenic views along the Muskoka River. Whether you’re planning to enjoy breakfast at a local café or grab dinner and a drink after exploring, everything is within easy walking distance.

If you’re after the essentials and don’t mind a more classic motel vibe, the Huntsville Inn Motel is a solid option right in the middle of the action.

3. Knights Inn Motel

The Knight Inn is located on the west end of Huntsville, offering a quiet setting just a 13-minute walk from downtown and only 10 minutes from Avery Beach.

This spot is perfect if you want to combine convenience with a touch of seclusion. Right next door is one of Huntsville’s finest dining establishments, Tall Trees Restaurant. This makes it easy to treat yourself to an elegant meal after a day of exploring.

Knights Inn in Huntsville, Ontario, featuring a mix of two-story and single-story buildings with a snow-covered parking lot and wooded backdrop, ideal for budget-friendly motels in Huntsville.

The motel has a cozy, Muskoka-inspired decor that adds to its charm. For those looking to unwind in style, the Deluxe King Rooms come with private jet tubs, providing a touch of luxury.

They also allow dogs, though additional charges may apply, so it’s worth confirming if you plan to bring your dog.

Wether or not a continental breakfast is provided is unclear and my change, so I recommend heading to Westside Fish & Chips for breakfast on the weekends. Otherwise, check out my other favourite breakfast spots in town.

Many reviews praise the comfort of the beds and love the view of Hunters Bay from the motel. If you like the sound of this well-kept, dog-friendly motel, then the Knights Inn might just be the right motel in Huntsville for you.

The Skyland Motel Inn & Suites is a charming accommodation option located at 208 Main Street West in Huntsville, Ontario.

5. Tally Ho Inn

Tally Ho Inn is not a classic motel and is located about a 15-minute drive from downtown Huntsville. But I thought it was important to include in this list because it’s in the same budget range, but provides the classic Muskoka cottage experience.

The inn’s lakeside location is a major highlight, offering direct access to a beachfront where you can relax or explore the shoreline. This makes Tally Ho Inn an excellent choice for families on a budget who want to enjoy the charm and beauty of Muskoka without breaking the bank.

This property includes suites and classic Muskoka-style cabins and cottages, designed to suit different group sizes. Each option includes its own kitchen, giving you the flexibility to prepare meals, and outdoor space where you can take in the fresh air and scenic views.

While it’s not within walking distance of town, its setting on Peninsula Lake makes it a great escape for families or groups seeking a peaceful getaway.
