Hi there, my name is Pamela and I am the author and owner of Guide To Ontario!

Born and raised in rural Ontario near the town of Huntsville, I am passionate about sharing my home and my province with international visitors. I have been a professional tour guide in Ontario and I am lucky to have travelled all over the province throughout my life!

I want to help you explore the best of Ontario!

Consider me your new best friend! I am going to show you around Ontario from a local’s perspective, and give you my best advice on how to have an authentic Canadian experience.

What led to Guide To Ontario…

When I was 13 years old, I got to do a summer exchange program to France, where I spent July with a french family. In return, my exchange partner spent August with me and my family. We showed her ALL of Ontario’s highlights! We were busy all month! I LOVED it!

This imbued a love of travel in me, so when I graduated from University, I moved to England for 2 years and explored as much of the UK as I could. This was followed by an amazing summer spent travelling to Morocco, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece, Istanbul, Cairo, New Zealand, Australia, and then 3 months in South Africa.

As a Canadian in other countries, I often found myself being an ambassador, explaining and describing Canadian history, culture, and geography to people I met all over the world.

I am immensely proud of my heritage and my country (though I do see its flaws as well), and I have a massive urge to bring all my new international friends home with me to show them around!
